Five on Friday

I'm hooking up with Amy again this week.

1. It has been a nothing week. Nothing much done especially around university study. I'm just getting more and more stressed. I am so whacked after school and stuff that happens during the day, I can't be bothered with much.
2. 8 more weeks and 2 days for the long 6-7-8 week break. I know. I'm sad. I need a big break from my job I think...
3. Then I realized the crazy finishing dates for the end of the school year for 4 of us - Nov 10; Dec 4; Dec 5; Dec 15. Different schools, different finishing dates. Of course the mother finishes on the last date. Welcome to New Zealand where every school has a choice. The early date is due to Cambridge school exams finishing that early! The kid only has a 2 hour prize giving on Dec 4 after that. Then we'll all go back to school on different dates in 2016 starting from around January 23/24/25 or so to the first week of February.
4. I've knitted a lot this week. A pair of socks and 2 hats started and completed.
5. I really need a shake up basically! That is all. xo

  1. You do sound like you need a break, there is not the usual chirpy sound to your words, I a sorry. Life really does wok in phases and this seems to be a tough one for you. Can the family help more can you ask school for a bit more PPA (planning, preparation, assessment time) time, let them know how you are feeling, I know school resources are always in short supply but sure something could be done. Glad you have a knitted a lot it is said to be good for the soul and is great down time. thinking of you x

  2. Sorry to hear that you are a little down in the dumps this week. Such a shame all the school dates are so different. Take care.

  3. I visited NZ this summer and I LOVED it. Queenstown was so pretty (and cold!)
I'm sorry you feel overwhelmed but I understand. When I taught school I longed for the breaks, lived for them. They flew by way too fast, too!

  4. We have a similar school situation here in that each district is on a different schedule. When our daughter and sil took their nephew in to take care of (he's the same age as our grandson) he was in one school district and the grandson the other, so when school started this year they moved the grandson so the boys could go to school together. Only our grandson hated the new school and missed his friends so they moved him back this eek. The funny thing is, the new school was coming off their fall break when the move occurred and the old school was just starting theirs. Our grandson is getting a LONG break! :-)

Sorry you feel so overwhelmed. Hope things get better for you soon.

  8. My goodness, that all sounds incredibly difficult to manage! I hope that you can work it all out. It is such a shame that the different schools don't coordinate their schedules better, it must cause lots of difficulties for families. Thank you for joining Five On Friday. I hope that you have a great weekend! xx

  9. Ugh. I hate that feeling of being so overwhelmed! I often feel like a "hamster on a wheel"... running so fast, trying so hard, but not getting anywhere. I hope you can take a few minutes this weekend to take a break and find some peace of mind.

  10. Oh you've just reminded me I said I'd knit a pair of socks, not sure how long they'll take me but probably longer than 24 hours so I'd best get started! #fiveonfriday
