Wool heaven in Sydney

I love Sydney - that really should say I LOVE Sydney. Back and very tired!

This trip I found out about a wool store in the CBD. It was bucketing down on Saturday and I really felt like taking my sandals off and jumping in the puddles - we have been rain deprived for such a long time now!

The wool shop was Morris and Sons in York Street just up from Pitt Street. The upstairs sold huge amounts of embroidery and cross stitch kits, threads etc. Living in England I stitched some William Morris designs and were horrified to find the identical ones here for $85 a kit!

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful shop! I limited myself to sock wool - one Australian, one German and one Chilean ball. Now I think I should have bought more , but had also been into several shops before this one.... The range for everything in Sydney is staggering to me!
I really do not need sock wool but am addicted to knitting them at the moment! It is a bit of a drive for me to get to any decent wool shop here too, so that is my excuse. I also had never bought any wool in Australia before! My dream is to one day to go to Bendigo Woollen Mills in Victoria!

This will keep me going over winter!
