We've had a very stormy day, which has been perfect for some knitting and reading (and even a walk with my new umbrella to buy school stationery). Lots and lots of rain, which I've loved.
I'm joining in with Ginny and her "yarn along". I love her blog and one day would love to own some of her wool, which she dyes herself.
On January 1 I started the Beeswax scarf. I only discovered Amy and her patterns that day and there are many I'd love to knit one day! I am using Zealana Heron, which is 80% fine New Zealand merino and 20% possum (seriously if any readers want to do a yarn swap with me from their country, I'd love to send you some NZ possum wool!! Leave me a comment with your e-mail address!).
It is gorgeous! I'm loving the pattern.
And I've been reading a lot this summer and am dipping in and out of these two books - Jean Harley was bought at the NSW State Library in Sydney, Australia early November and my cousin bought me the awesome Clara Parkes book which is fabulous - short stories about knitters' stashes.
I'd love to know what others are reading and knitting!
I've seen the Clara Parkes book mentioned on other blogs, it sounds interesting, I'd like to read that myself. We've had lots of rain here too over the last couple of days as well as high winds, Storm Eleanor is making her presence felt.
ReplyDeleteYour beeswax scarf pattern looks great.
ReplyDeleteThe weather is pure miserable here and unfortunately, I am at work so no knitting or any other fun activity. I am intrigued by the possum yarn, I'll google that just now. The most exiting yarn animal we get in Scotland is the good old sheep x
ReplyDeletePossum - as in the giant rat-like animal? I've never heard of possum wool!
ReplyDeleteJust found your lovely website. That possum wool sounds gorgeous. A dear friend brought me back a possum wool hat a few years ago when she stayed in New Zealand and it’s so cosy, I wear it often. I will be off now to read some more of your posts to get acquainted. B.
ReplyDeleteLoving the look of your beeswax scarf. Happy New Year.
